Massie Heritage Interpretation CenterMassie Heritage Interpretation Center Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) A public school since it's opening in 1856, Massie School continued to educate Savannah youngsters until it was closed in 1974. Today is it a museum and resource center for Savannah history and environment hosting thousands of students and teachers each year in topics ranging from Savannah's city plan and squares, architecture, and historic preservation to humanities, foreign affairs, and surveys of American history. The Massie Heritage Interpretation Center is housed in three nineteenth-century Greek Rivival buildings on Calhoun Square in the Historic District. Massie Center is open to the public for tour of its highly informative exhibits covering the diverse architectural styles, environment, and history of the city of Savannah.
